Packrafting the Cache Creek Wilderness

Cache Creek alongside Hwy 16 is well known destination for summer recreation. But upstream the road leaves the river, and beyond that is the Cache Creek wilderness, a little known and stunningly beautiful watershed.

Using the latest toy in my arsenal, the packraft – A lightweight and durable inflatable boat made by Alpacka, we hiked in and floated out of this region. A great weekend getaway from the Bay Area.

Hey James, would you mind providing a little more detail about your trip? I found your put-in but it looks like maybe you took out near where Cache Creek met up again with 16, in the Cache Creek Regional Park area? How did you shuttle back to your vehicles– just multiple cars?

    Thanks!
